1987, The first ever Simpsons episode airs, the US stockmarket drops by 22.6% and Britain is hit by the worst storms in history, and amongst the chaos Enzo Ferrari was about to release a car that would change the world of Supercars forever. His last ever personally approved car no less. The Ferrari F40.

The Ferrari F40 was undoubtedly the poster car for Ferrari at the time, and to this day is regarded as one of the greatest supercars ever produced. Under the bonnet is a twin-turbocharged V8 capable of 197 miles per hour with some of the smoothest body lines ever seen on a Ferrari in this era.

Fast forward 32 years and we arrive at 2019, and most notably the release of the Ferrari F8 Tributo, paying homage to its predecessors with a 3.9 litre Twin Turbo V8 from the 488 Pista. The F8 Tributo is a true statement piece from Ferrari, a mark of design brilliance with spine-tingling performance figures to match.

Up front there is brake-cooling air intakes and a more deeply engraved bonnet scoop, as well as some slimmer LED headlights which aren’t too dissimilar to the LaFerrari.

At the rear you'll spot an all-new rear wing and two homages to the iconic F40 - twin rear lights and the louvred Lexan engine cover sheltering the mighty V8 underneath.

But this isn't just a gimmick. In true Ferrari form, the clamshell rear deck extracts excess heat from the engine bay, as well as looking like a panel straight from a Le Mans race car.

Fancy owning the iconic Ferrari F40? Dick Lovett Swindon are delighted to offer this stunning example finished in Rosso Corsa over a Nero interior. The Ferrari F8 Tributo is set to arrive later on in 2019, and it’s set to go down in history as one of the greatest technological Ferraris ever created.
