Oozing Ferrari DNA from every pore, the F8 Tributo and the F8 Spider take performance and ultimate aerodynamic efficiency further than ever, the new F8 Tributo pays homage to Ferrari’s V8 supercar legacy with the usage of a Lexan rear screen, a tribute to the legendary F40.
The ultimate expression of the classic two-seater berlinetta, the F8 Tributo’s name (literally) pays tribute to its uncompromising layout, and its formidable V8 engine. Its younger brother, the F8 Spider featuring the compact and efficient RHT (Retractable Hard Top), takes Ferrari ‘en plain air’ driving, that began with the 308 GTS, to a new dimension.
Already an icon, the Ferrari engineers have tweaked and honed the 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 engine in the Tributo and Spider to create the fastest V8 ever. Now packing 720hp it can reach 0-62mph in a blink-and-miss-it 2.9 seconds. Top speed? A magnificent 211mph. Imagine that. Now imagine that with the roof down.
The Ferrari F8 Tributo has ably replaced the 488 GTB, while the F8 Spider steps into the shoes of the 488 Spider. They bring with them a host of new features and improvements. Now there’s even better control when pressing down, along with a generous helping of luxurious comfort inside.
Both the F8 Tributo and Spider are lighter than their predecessors too (40kg and 20kg respectively), have a 10% improvement in aerodynamic efficiency, and boast the latest version of the Side Slip Angle Control for a more commanding drive.
Both command 720hp with zero turbo lag (that’s an additional 50hp if you’re keeping score) and produce a suitably sporty, and very Ferrari, soundtrack. Handling is also superior thanks to a new dynamic solution, including a new Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer, which, for the first time, can be activated in the manettino’s RACE position.
To the rear of the Ferrari F8 in both its forms, sits a spoiler hugging the taillights. This makes the F8 look lower and more athletic, harking back to the classic tail of the early 8-cylinder berlinettas. The front is dominated by the stylish S-Duct, re-imagined to compliment the new modifications. One of the most cleverly designed features is the new horizontal LED headlights, created to incorporate brake cooling intakes to work with those on the bumper. The result? Improved airflow through the braking system to handle the car’s speed.
Slide inside and you’ll discover a cabin that has evolved with great success. Still comfortably reminiscent of a classic berlinetta, but now with a completely redesigned dash, door panels and tunnels, a 7” passenger touchscreen, brand new steering wheel carrying intuitive controls, and the latest generation Human Machine Interface (HMI).
After all, evolution is all about adapting to your environment. That’s why when behind the wheel of the F8 Spider, there's no need to pull over to deploy the roof; it can be retracted or closed on the move at up to 45km per hour. And all in just 14 seconds.
The next generation of Ferrari is waiting for you
